Xylomist nasal drops are used to relieve temporary nasal congestion caused by the common cold, allergies, or sinusitis. They work by narrowing the blood vessels in the nasal passages to reduce swelling, making it easier to breathe. The active ingredient is xylometazoline, a decongestant that provides fast relief. 

Uses

Nasal congestion: Provides relief from a stuffy nose. 

Common cold: Treats congestion that comes with a common cold. 

Allergies: Offers relief from a stuffy nose caused by allergies, such as hay fever. 

Sinusitis: Helps with congestion due to sinus inflammation. 

How it works

Xylometazoline, the active ingredient, narrows the blood vessels in the nasal passages. 

This reduces swelling and congestion, which helps clear the nasal passages. 

The effect is often felt within minutes and can last for several hours. 

Important considerations

Temporary relief: 

Xylomist is for short-term use only. Do not use for more than 7 days without consulting a doctor, as prolonged use can worsen congestion. 

Doctor's advice: 

Always use as directed by your doctor. Inform them if you have other nasal issues, diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma, or hyperthyroidism. 

Side effects: 

Common side effects can include a burning sensation, dryness, or sneezing. If they persist, contact your doctor. 

Usage: 

Do not use the drops in your eyes. Use as directed, typically 1-2 drops in each nostril.
