Modalert 100 mg (modafinil) is a prescription medication primarily used to promote wakefulness in adult patients with excessive sleepiness caused by specific sleep disorders. 

It is most commonly used to treat: 

Narcolepsy: A chronic neurological disorder that causes excessive, uncontrollable daytime sleepiness and sudden sleep attacks.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): To reduce excessive daytime sleepiness in patients whose primary treatment for OSA (e.g., CPAP machine) is also being used.

Shift Work Sleep Disorder (SWSD): To help patients stay awake during their work hours when their work schedule is not aligned with a natural sleeping schedule. 

Modalert works by modulating levels of chemical messengers in the brain to act as a stimulant, increasing alertness and helping to restore a normal sleep-wake cycle. 

Important Considerations:

Modalert is a prescription drug and should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional.

It is not a substitute for proper sleep and should not be used to treat general tiredness or to hold off sleep in individuals who do not have a diagnosed sleep disorder.

While it may improve concentration, it is not approved for improving cognitive function or enhancing academic performance in healthy individuals without a medical need.

Common side effects can include headache, nausea, anxiety, and insomnia. 

Sertafine 100 mg Tablet is utilised in the treatment of depression, anxiety disorder, phobia, post traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

How it works

This medicine is contraindicated for the treatment of perioperative pain in the setting of  coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
